Japanese indigo fabrics
These Japanese fabrics represent the best of Japanese textiles today, useful in quilting and garment making techniques, also for home decorating and curtains. Hida Sashiko stitching, the beautiful craft of creating patterns on Japanese fabrics that was developed in the last few centuries in Japan. The original stitching method was used as a necessary task to sew several layers of fabric together, and in time grew as an expression of art and design. Sashiko fabrics were adopted from the Hida region in Japan and the popularity grew and spread, as it does today, together with the traditional look of the indigo color.
